Conditions of registration

  1. The provider will operate an independent hospice.
  2. The service will operate 24hrs Monday to Sunday
  3. The provider must only allow 24hr nursing care and specialist palliative care on both an in-patient and domiciliary care basis
  4. The provider must not allow more than 15 in-patients and 15 day-case places
  5. The provider must not allow the provision of dental treatments including dental hygiene treatments, dental implants, tooth whitening and orthodontics.
  6. The provider must not allow any exposures ionising radiation to be carried out.
  7. The provider will treat service users aged from 16 or over.
  8. The provider must ensure that patients under the age of 16 are not assessed or treated on the premises.
  9. The provider must only consult and examine patients from the ages 16 years on an out-patients basis.
  10. The provider must ensure that staff possessing the appropriate skills, training and experience are provided in sufficient numbers to ensure the safety and welfare of patients.
  11. The provider must ensure that all healthcare professionals working in the service have a licence to practice in the United Kingdom.
  12. The provider must ensure a registered medical officer with specialist palliative care is available on call at all times.
  13. The provider must only treat patients individually, group treatments are not permitted.

The provider will operate an independent hospital (hospice) 

  1. The service will operate 24hrs Monday to Sunday. 
  1. The provider must only allow specialist palliative care on both an in-patient and domiciliary care basis. 
  1. The provider must not allow more than 8 in-patient places and 10 day-case places. 
  1. The provider must not allow the provision of dental treatments (including dental hygiene treatments, dental implants, tooth whitening and orthodontics). 
  1. The provider must not allow any ionising radiation exposures to be carried out. 
  1. The provider must not allow the prescribing of cannabis-based medicinal products. 
  1. The provider must only treat service users aged 18 or over. 
  1. The provider will offer bereavement support and counselling to children and young people from the age of 5 – 18 yo. 
  1. The provider must ensure that staff possess the appropriate skills, knowledge and experience and that they are provided in sufficient numbers to ensure the safety and welfare of patients, the public and wider workforce. 
  1. The provider must ensure that staff requiring to be registered by a professional regulating body are actively registered. 
  1. The provider must ensure a registered medical officer that specialises in palliative care is available on call at all times.
