Conditions of registration

  1. This service will operate as a voluntary hospice providing both a specialist palliative care inpatient service and an out-of-hours domiciliary service.
  2. No one under the age of 16 years to be seen or treated on the premises. However, named service users between 15-16 years may be seen or treated on an individual basis after prior agreement with Healthcare Improvement Scotland and other relevant services.
  3. To provide a maximum of 16 in-patient places.
  4. To provide a maximum of 20 day care places.
  5. A registered medical officer with specialist experience of palliative care to be on call over 24 hours.
  6. To provide 24 hour nursing care.
  7. The service shall ensure that staff possessing the appropriate skills, training and experience are provided in sufficient numbers to ensure the safety and welfare of all service users. .
