Summary
The Healthcare Staffing Programme (HSP) own a suite of staffing level tools. These support boards with workforce planning. The tools provide recommended Whole Time Equivalents (WTE). The WTE is based on patient acuity or patient interventions.
These tools were developed independently of each other. They use several different methodologies to derive the multipliers which produce the WTE output.
This document describes each of the methodologies used. It shows their resulting multipliers, and which staffing level tools they align to.
