This webinar is designed to improve understanding of frailty within general practice (GP).
It is for GP practice frailty leads as defined in the 2025-26 Directed Enhanced Service (DES). It is also for members of the general practice multidisciplinary team with an interest in ageing and frailty.
By the end of the webinar participants will:
- be able to define frailty and explain its relevance in the context of general practice.
- have an awareness of how to recognise frailty within general practice using the Clinical Frailty Scale (CFS).
- have an awareness of evidence-based interventions and approaches for assessing and managing frailty within general practice.
- know how to access resources on frailty identification and appropriate interventions for older people living with frailty.
- understand the requirements of the DES.
The webinar will be chaired by Dr Paul Baughan, Clinical Lead for General Practice, Healthcare Improvement Scotland. He is also a General Practitioner with Dollar Health Centre, NHS Forth Valley.
