Eighth Citizens’ Panel Report

This report presents findings from the eighth Citizens’ Panel survey carried out in November 2021. 

We asked questions about dentistry services, urgent care services, planned care services, and the remit of the Patient Safety Commissioner.
Based on our findings for Dentistry Services we made 5 recommendations to the Scottish Government, General Dental Council and NHS dental services.

Based on the results for urgent care services we made 5 recommendations to the Scottish Government and NHS boards.

Based on the results for planned care services we made 2 recommendations to the Scottish Government and NHS boards.

Based on the results for the role of the Patient Safety Commissioner, we made 1 recommendation to the Scottish Government.

NHS Lanarkshire’s engagement on the Monklands Replacement Project

This report sets out our assessment of whether NHS Lanarkshire’s engagement on the Monklands Replacement Project followed Scottish Government guidance, which requires that NHS boards seek, listen to and act on the views of potentially affected people and communities when proposing changes to services.
It is our view that NHS Lanarkshire has met the expectations set out in our recommendations of 2019.

NHS Lanarkshire’s consultation on the replacement or refurbishment of University Hospital Monklands

This report sets out our assessment of whether NHS Lanarkshire’s engagement and consultation process for the replacement or refurbishment of University Hospital Monklands followed Scottish Government guidance, which requires that NHS boards seek, listen to and act on the views of potentially affected people and communities when proposing changes to services.
Based on the evidence outlined in this report, our view is that NHS Lanarkshire has partially followed the national guidance.

NHS Tayside’s consultation on proposals for transforming Surgical Services in Tayside

This report sets out our assessment of whether NHS Tayside’s engagement and consultation process for transforming surgical services in Tayside followed Scottish Government guidance, which requires that NHS boards seek, listen to and act on the views of potentially affected people and communities when proposing changes to services.
Based on the evidence outlined in this report, our view is that NHS Tayside has followed the national guidance set out by the Scottish Government.
