Summary
The Adult Inpatient Tool (AiT) is set up to enable nursing staff to record information to review workload. It will calculate a recommended whole time equivalent (rWTE). It does this using occupied beds and patient dependency to inform workforce planning decisions.
The national recommendation is that this tool is run at least once per year. It should be run for two consecutive weeks, with ward occupancy data and average dependency for each patient.
