Sharing knowledge and learning

There are many ways to share information about your changes. This can include how your service communicates with the wider system and can also  involve including people with lived and living experience.

Sharing the impact of your changes can support accelerating good practice throughout the system, allowing other areas to use your experiences and approaches to drive change forward. Using different methods of information sharing and networks will allow for replication of what works in practice.

Once changes have commenced, it may be worth holding a specific local webinar or in-person workshop where the clinical team can demonstrate the changes. The links below give some advice about the kinds of things to consider when commencing change.

Patient information leaflets

NHS Dumfries and Galloway SCM pathway: visualisation

This is a useful resource that highlights how you can communicate information about your service in a succinct and visual way with the wider system and with patients, as well as any changes to your service.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde: Borderline and beyond

These resource showcases how insights from the lived and living experience can support services to communicate more effectively with wider audiences, demonstrating how lived and living experience can meaningfully shape clear, relevant and accessible service communications.

Networks

SPDN brings together people with lived experience, carers and professionals in a supportive space, to support further the understanding around the challenges faced by people with a diagnosis and to improve services for a group that can often be overlooked. Provides a range of resources such as learning and training and informational videos.

British and Irish Group for the study of Personality Disorder (BIGSPD)
