The Professional Judgement (PJ) tool is part of the national triangulation process for nursing and midwifery workload planning.
The Professional Judgement Tool is based on users’ professional opinion on how many staff, registered and unregistered, are needed to carry out the workload required daily. This is normally over a period of two consecutive weeks. The PJ tool always starts on a Monday.
