Conditions of registration
- The provider will operate an independent hospital.
- The service must only operate between the hours of 0700 and 2300 except for the provision of emergency care.
- The provider must only allow medical and surgical assessment and treatment in a day hospital environment.
- The provider must not allow more than four day-case places.
- The provider must not allow more than 50 surgical procedures per day.
- The provider must not allow in-patient care.
- The provider must not allow the provision of dental treatments (including dental hygiene treatments, dental implants, tooth whitening and orthodontics).
- The provider must not allow any ionising radiation exposures to be carried out.
- The provider must not allow the prescribing of cannabis-based medicinal products.
- The provider must not allow any treatments or procedures to be carried out using conscious sedation, deep sedation or general anaesthesia unless an appropriately trained second practitioner is present who has the sole responsibility for administering and monitoring the sedation/general anaesthesia.
- The provider must only treat service users aged 18 or over.
- The provider must not allow children under the age of 18 to be present during any consultations, treatments or procedures (unless they are the service user).
- The provider must ensure that patients under the age of 18 are not assessed or treated on the premises
- The provider must ensure that staff possess the appropriate skills, knowledge and experience and that they are provided in sufficient numbers to ensure the safety and welfare of patients, the public and wider workforce.
- The provider must ensure that staff requiring to be registered by a professional regulating body are actively registered.
- The provider must ensure a registered medical officer is present in the service when patients are in theatre and in recovery until patients are assessed as fit to be discharged.
- The provider must only treat patients individually, group treatments are not permitted.
- The provider must not allow service users to consume alcohol while in receipt of health care.
- The provider must not allow animals or pets in the area where the treatments are provided, except for service animals.
