Conditions of registration
- The provider will operate an independent hospital.
- The service will operate 24hrs Monday to Sunday.
- The provider must only allow medical and surgical assessment and treatment in an in-patient environment
- The provider must not allow more than [70 in-patient places].
- The provider must not allow more than [50] surgical procedures per day.
- The provider must not allow the provision of dental treatments (including dental hygiene treatments, dental implants, tooth whitening and orthodontics).
- The provider must not allow the prescribing of cannabis-based medicinal products.
- The provider must not allow any treatments or procedures to be carried out using conscious sedation, deep sedation or general anaesthesia unless an appropriately trained second practitioner is present who has the sole responsibility for administering and monitoring the sedation/general anaesthesia.
- The provider will treat service users aged 16 or over.
- The provider must not allow facial or body aesthetic treatments to be provided to children under the age of 18.
- The provider must not allow children under the age of 18 to be present during any treatments or procedures (unless they are the service user).
- The provider must ensure that patients under the age of 16 are not treated as day case patients.
- The provider must only consult and examine patients between the ages of 0-15 years on an out-patient basis.
- All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- The provider must ensure that staff possess the appropriate skills, knowledge and experience and that they are provided in sufficient numbers to ensure the safety and welfare of patients, the public and wider workforce.
- The provider must ensure that staff requiring to be registered by a professional regulating body are actively registered.
- The provider must ensure that a registered medical officer is present in the service at all times.
- The provider must only treat patients individually, group treatments are not permitted.
- The provider must not allow service users to consume alcohol while in receipt of health care.
- The provider must not allow animals or pets in the area where the treatments are provided, except for service animals.
