Conditions of registration

  1. The provider will operate an independent psychiatric hospital.
  2. The service will operate 24hrs Monday to Sunday.
  3. The provider must only allow mental health care in low secure accommodation with rehabilitation facilities.
  4. The provider must not allow more than 57 in-patient places. A maximum of 36 in-patient places at Dalmellington Road, KA6 6PG a maximum of 8 in-patient places at 31 Prestwick Road, KA8 8LE and a maximum of 13 patients at 15-17 Station Road Mauchline KA5 5ES.
  5. The provider must not allow any ionising radiation exposures to be carried out.
  6. The provider must not allow the prescribing of cannabis-based medicinal products.
  7. The provider will treat service users aged 18 or over. Named service users between 16 years – 18 years may be seen or treated on an individual basis after prior agreement with Healthcare Improvement Scotland and other relevant healthcare services.
  8. The provider must ensure that staff possess the appropriate skills, knowledge and experience and that they are provided in sufficient numbers to ensure the safety and welfare of patients, the public and wider workforce.
  9. The provider must ensure that staff requiring to be registered by a professional regulating body are actively registered.
  10. The provider must ensure a registered medical officer supported by an on-call consultant psychiatrist is present in the service at all times.
  11. The provider must not allow service users to consume alcohol while in receipt of health care.
