On 23 February 2026, practitioners, system leaders, academics and third sector representatives came together to reflect on the Scottish Approach to Change and explore what is needed to embed it more consistently across the system.
The Symposium provided an opportunity to test and challenge the Scottish Approach to Change, ensuring it remains relevant to today’s health and care context. It also highlighted where further development is needed to support its wider adoption.
We developed a set of recommendations for Healthcare Improvement Scotland, system leaders, national partners, organisations and practitioners. The recommendations for Healthcare Improvement Scotland are now being embedded within the Scottish Approach to Change programme workstreams.
