Summary
This framework sets out how we will work with and the Scottish Government (SG).
It defines the key roles and responsibilities of both parties. These underpin and describe the detail of the relationship between HIS and SG. We retain operational independence. Our Executive Directors are accountable to our Board through the Chief Executive.
Both organisations will always seek to collaborate and co-operate in the public interest. The delivery of our work recognises our:
- respective statutory roles
- responsibilities
- operational independence
This framework is the primary accountability and governance document between SG and HIS. We will review and update as necessary, at least every four years. Any proposals to amend the document either by SG or HIS will progress with due engagement. Changes will always take account of latest priorities and policy aims.
