Summary
This framework sets out how we will work with and the Scottish Government (SG).
It defines the key roles and responsibilities of Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) and SG. These underpin and describe the detail of our working relationship. It covers topics including:
- HIS’s statutory duties and powers
- How our work is planned and commissioned
- How we escalate concerns to SG
This is the primary accountability and governance document between HIS and SG. Both organisations will always seek to collaborate and co-operate in the public interest.
We will review and update the framework as necessary, and at least every three years. Any proposals to amend the document either by SG or HIS will progress with due engagement. Changes will always take account of latest priorities and policy aims.
