Summary
We worked with stakeholders to understand how the MAT Standards affect Scotland’s 1,271 community pharmacies. This report gives recommendations for a national improvement programme to put the standards into practice.
Our findings show the many ways community pharmacies support people affected by drug use. They also identify ways to improve care and support, despite the challenges facing the system. These changes could reduce drug-related harm and improve outcomes for people.
As part of this work, we also carried out a literature review to explore views and evidence from around the world.
We hosted a webinar on the 18th of June 2024 to launch the report.
