Summary

This Hospital at Home (H@H) progress update covers quarter 2 (July to September) of the 2025/26 financial year.

This report provides further information on what the programme is, and the role Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) plays in supporting services. It includes data comparisons between the progress of H@H services last year versus this year, and also the capacity of H@H versus hospitals across Scotland.

This report also shares feedback from patients supported by H@H services, as well as updates of both adult and paediatric services. Lastly, the report outlines details of the National Hospital at Home programme, which was launched in July 2025, and reflects on the National Hospital at Home event held in October 2025. At the time of the event, the guiding principles for service development went live.
