Summary
We carried out an initial safe delivery of care inspection of Forth Valley Royal Hospital, NHS Forth Valley, in April 2022. We returned for further inspections in:
- September 2022
- January 2024
- March 2026
We returned to Forth Valley Royal Hospital on Tuesday 7 April 2026 to follow up on a number of potential patient safety concerns highlighted during our March 2026 inspection.
During our follow-up inspection in April 2026, we revisited several of the areas previously inspected to provide assurance of improvement within these areas. We also included a broad range of specialties to help us to understand the extent of any wider improvements across the hospital. We inspected the following areas:
- acute assessment unit
- clinical assessment unit
- emergency department
- ward 6
- ward A12
- ward A21
- ward A31
- ward B11
- ward B12
- ward B21
- ward B22
- ward B23
- ward B31
- ward B32
Our findings
This inspection resulted in two areas of good practice, one new recommendation and seven new requirements.
