The Essentials of Safe Care is a package of evidence-based guidance and resources. They support Scotland’s health and care system to deliver safe care for every person every time.
The package was initially published in 2021. They were updated in 2025 to reflect the latest evidence, guidance and practice in Scotland’s health and care system.
