Several tools have been selected for the Quality Management System, with three recommended below for each component as a starting point.

Planning for Quality

Strategic gap analysis
A tool that helps you find what is missing. It looks at where you are now and where you want to be. 
Three horizons
A tool that helps build a long-term vision for a system and the steps required to get there.
Options appraisal
Guidance that helps you to make decisions. It takes people through each stage of a proposed process.

Improving Quality

Model for improvement
A tool to help you with standardised methodologies appropriate to the problem (available on TURAS Learn).
Change package
An example change package from SPSP Acute Adult programme falls reduction.
Plan do study act (PDSA)
A tool that helps to test an idea by temporarily trialing a change and assessing its impact (available on TURAS Learn).

Maintaining Quality

Data visualisation
A tool that is an example of measurement dashboards and visual displays of data (available on TURAS Learn).
Statistical control charts
A tool to help you with the use of statistical process control charts (available on TURAS Learn).
Visual management boards
The Care Assurance and Improvement Resource (CAIR) helps to visualise data on the quality of care.
