Conditions of registration

1. This service will operate as a hospice providing specialist palliative care to children and young adults up to the age of 22 years.
2. To provide a maximum of 8 inpatient places.
3. A registered medical officer with specialist palliative care and paediatric experience to be on call over 24 hours.
4. A registered sick children’s nurse must be on duty at all times.
5. To provide 24-hour nursing care.
6. The service shall ensure that staff possessing the appropriate skills, training and experience are provided in sufficient numbers to ensure the safety and welfare of all service users.
