Conditions of registration

1. This service will operate as a voluntary hospice providing specialist palliative care.
2. No one under the age of 16 years to be seen or treated on the premises.
3. To provide a maximum of 14 in-patient places.
4. A registered medical officer with specialist experience of palliative care to be on call over 24 hours.
5. To provide 24 hour nursing care.
6. Day and community specialist palliative care services will operate from the following sites: the Marie Curie Hospice, 45 Frogston Road West, Edinburgh EH10 7DR and the Macmillan Day Centre, St John’s Hospital, Howden, Livingston, EH54 6PP.
7. The service shall ensure that staff possessing the appropriate skills, training and experience are provided in sufficient numbers to ensure the safety and welfare of all service users.
8. This service will operate as a voluntary hospice providing specialist palliative care.
