On Tuesday 3 March 2026, the Transformational Change Alcohol and Drugs team partnered with Harbour Ayrshire to deliver a national digital webinar.

The webinar, ‘Alive to Thrive: Mobilising Scotland to be Recovery Oriented’ highlighted the powerful role of addiction recovery services within communities and how recovery oriented services create hope and empower communities to thrive.

Speakers included:

• Harbour Ayrshire staff and volunteers, sharing lived experience, frontline expertise and community insights from their work. 
• Professor David Best, who discussed frameworks of recovery and how community contributions can bridge the gap between recovery and harm reduction.
• Dr David McCartney, leading a conversation exploring where this work and research can take us next.
