Brief Insight six: NHS Forth Valley: Substance use recovery development worker pilot

In October 2020, the NHS Forth Valley Substance Use Psychological Therapies team partnered with the Forth Valley Recovery Community (FVRC). The partnership supports the MAT Standards, which recognise the important role that relationships and social connections play in recovery.
Two Recovery Development Workers joined the team. They work closely with psychology staff and have experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing. They also have lived experience of substance use, which helps them support people in recovery.
